The Moderate Voice: American Elections: Cause for Hope and for Disappointment
Newsweek
Will the candidates for the U.S. presidency get ever beyond pandering and demagoguery and deal with the real issues? According to Eric Le Boucher of France’s Le Monde newspaper , the rhetoric from both Democrats and Republicans has been disappointing. Boucher writes : The American presidential election campaign is disappointing. Not because of the people running. On the contrary, they are rich, impressive and truth be told, they are far more thoughtful than those who have run in Europe lately. And not because Mrs. Clinton herself will have to withdraw. Weâ?™re sorry, but seen from France, it’s hard to see the difference between the two Democratic candidates. It’s disappointing because it’s nowhere near over and given the way things…

Oliver Willis: GOP Bigot Eruption: McCain Again â?œFightsâ? His Partyâ?™s Racist Impulses

The North Carolina Republican party is up on the air with an ad trying to paint Sen. Obama as a radical black nationalist and McCain writes a letter to try and get them to pull it back. Maybe Iâ?™m too cynical, but I think the McCain campâ?™s real beef is that its too soon to go […]

He changed religious faith in influencea of the reverend wright to christianity .he now felt his association with wright for over twenty years needed to be erased quickly for gaining white support of his candidacy for president of u s. obama the greedy soul made millions by selling ideology borrowed from rev wright in his now famous book. .We have reports that he has been propmoting sale of the book by dumping respect for rev wright. In fact obama needs to be dumped as dishonest soul of modern ethics. the reveren hon’ble wrighjt has been black church pastor. if he spoke irrelevantly against he really did not mean to destroy usa . rather he wanted to change usa as a whole to retard , some oppressions which did exest in usa. sounds as bad as is ,oppressions are no singular problems of white and black relations, rather it was way to control ecomics of societal wealth and visions ,economics of control. the process was bad,but solutions were not easy in historical perspectives.Obama is rather opportunist, he is no civil rights leader living in bargained million+ dollar house ,procured by cheating irs taxes for illegal gains on the property in a fashion of ponzi game of bargain
The majority did you forget how to stop a social fraud in human _body if such a ill_talented person may deceive your prosperity in a nation that you built in over 2 centuries of hard labour. In any racial group helped usa grow to current standard it the white race, blacks helped, others helped in recent times. The racial bias is a boon to prosperity , it is no evil. big animals in wilderness kill and eat smaller animals, it was never announced as crime. if blacks can unite to elect a black idea was not bad, but the white race must be aroused to keep properity continued. To supprt a black candidate blindly, is a social crime to reduce prosperity. 6. Medicare tax witheld
I have tried leaving the AGI column blank, and also entering ‘0′…but it keeps getting returned.
Any advice?
Thanks in advance!
When you say I need my tax return, which bit of paper do you mean? Would it have come with the check?
Normally I just get issued a W-2.
I didn’t file any of these strange forms people are mentioning.
Last year I simply had a W-2 - and put in a few numbers online (TaxAct) and got a check. I was only a temp. worker and had non-resident alien status.
Didn’t have any other paper work at all.

Resolved Question: Confused about federal tax refund amount differences between different free e-file services?! HELP!?
Okay, so I e-filed my federal taxes through h&r block online (i was directed from the IRS site to a list of free online filing services), and my refund was 487 dollars, according to them. seemed a little low, but i trusted they were right.
well, i got my federal refund, and just now e-filed my state return. According to the site I filed my state return with (taxengine.com), I actually should have received a federal refund of 792 dollars!!!! I also got this same estimate from a crappy free-file site (taxsimple.com) that I tried right before taxengine and gave up on.
So my question is, did H&R Block’s online filing rip me off for almost half my tax refund, or am I missing something here? How can I find out if they scammed me, and if they did, what can I do about it? Any advice is greatly appreciated, as I’m totally perplexed.
Thanks!!!

Voting Question: Filing Tax help?
I bank with Navy Federal and when I view my 1099 online it says this
Since NFCU is not required to report dividend earnings of $10.00 or less to the IRS, a Combined Tax Statement has not been issued for your account(s).
Notes:
Combined Tax Forms (Issued in lieu of 1099-INT) and Form 1099-R were mailed prior to January 31, 2008.
This tax information is being furnished to the Internal Revenue Service, as required by law. If you are required to file a tax return, a negligence penalty will be imposed on you if this income is taxable and the IRS determines that it has not been reported by you.
i already have my W2. does that 1099 thing up there mean i dont have to report anything from the 1099? And what else do I need besides my W2 and 1099?

Resolved Question: Filing US Tax Returns from India (L1)?
I was in US (Boston) from Apr 2007 till Sept 2007, precisely 143 days.
I had travelled on L1 visa.
I’ve certain doubts in filing US Tax Returns for 2008 from India.
1. Which form do I need to fill to file tax returns (both State & Federal) ?
2. I’ve my US Bank account still open. So Can I fill the form online & ask for an electronic credit for my returns? or I’ve to mail the documents?

Resolved Question: How do you amend a federal tax return filing and add another employer W-2?
I filed my taxes online but accidently filed each w-2 seperate and one went through and they sent me a refund but the other was rejected how can I fix this and get all the money owed to me?
I already e-filed one of my w-2’s but the other w-2 just arrived well they sent me a refund for the first but will not allow me to file the second w-2 it keeps getting rejected so what do I do?

Resolved Question: Federal tax return is ACCEPTED but state tax return is NOT?

Your tax return can still be filed. However, you’ll need to print and mail your returns to the federal and state taxing authorities. Instructions of where to mail are included in your tax return(s). You must correct your tax return and resubmit it.”
What would be the reason for this? It doesn’t state any specific reason aside from “processing issue.” I wouldn’t have bothered filing it online (my first time) if I had known I would have to go through this.

Resolved Question: Need help filing taxes online, invalid FIN?
Hey,
I’m 18, and this is my first actual filing. I’ve started the process through an efiler, freetaxusa.com. I entered my w-2 information, as well as 1 of 2 1099-MISCs. The problem I am encountering is on one of the 1099-MISCs, the “payers federal identification number” keeps returning as invalid. I called the person to double check the number printed on the 1099, and its the same. I tried to research on the internet, and was able to find that several starting number combinations are invalid, and this one starts with it (17). What can I do? Thanks

Resolved Question: I filed my State taxes wrong! HELP!!!!!!?
I filed my taxes around 1am online and went to bed, when I woke up I looked over everything I did and I realized I screwed up big time. One of the questions asked was “IT-1040ES Estimated Payments Amount” and for some reason I entered my federal income withheld. I don’t know how I made that mistake. Like I said, it was late and I was half asleep. Then it asked, “IT-40P Payments” and I entered my State income tax. For some reason I must’ve thought it was asking me how much I was withheld from federal and state. I confirmed everything and it’s filed. It’s Sunday so I don’t know if they saw it yet but I really need to know how I can fix this. Do I need to call someone? What will happen to me since I messed up so badly? It says my return is a little over 1,200 and I only paid 177 for state taxe. Please help ASAP!!

Resolved Question: I filed my state taxes using 2 different online sites and got 2 different refund amts?
If I file a nonresident return the amount that state can tax is based on what is made in that state right, not federal amount filed right, wrong? See, one of the returns has the federal total income and the other only requires the state income. But they are both state apps. What is up? Which way is right? I haven’t completed either one yet because I don’t know what to do.

Comment: “A person is a person, no matter how small!”
Hello Everyone!
I hope all this discussion about race and gender, may permit another face of prejudice to be in greater debate: The American Prejudice against Cultural differences.
I am from Latin America, and I have felt, literally, what is like to be in USA, and trying to have a normal life at the same time that we carry an strong accent in our voices.
My family has given me great education, and I have studied in life much more than the average people in United states will ever study in their lives.
Nonetheless, and even having “not-so-bad” English skills, I have been treated as sub-type of a person, and passed many times by the situation where people were either thinking I was stupid or deaf, due to the fact that they would easily start to talk to me in a louder and slower way.
As a good example of how this kind of prejudice is ingrained in American Society, I have just got home, coming back from the theaters. I watched “Hortons hears a who!”, an apparently innocent animation, made for children from all ages (which includes adults, of course).
As any American movie, there are tons of stereotypes: the anti-hero, the good-man-that-nobody-believes-in-until-he-proves-his-point, the conservative madam accusing the “threat to our way of life” and a danger to “our children”, etc…
But what I want to point out is something that, I believe, most Americans will never notice: when it appears vulture, that represent the bad people, the authors have used the least creative way to characterize vilains: giving it a foreign name and heavily strong foreign accent!
That’s is the hidden message American children get all their lives, and that help to build up the way they see foreign people.
And I purposedly picked up this movie, specifically, due to what have been said about the movie, based upon a story Dr. Seuss wrote in the 50′: “There’s Horton’s steadfastness and faith to what he believes in. And the theme of the book — a person’s a person, no matter how small — really is about not painting people with the broad brush of prejudice and intolerance. It’s a wonderful message.”
Yes! It’s a wonderful message! If we can’t see, hear or feel it doesn’t exist!

Comment: A Ferraro flashback
“If Jesse Jackson were not black, he wouldn’t be in the race,” she said.
Really. The cite is an April 15, 1988 Washington Post story (byline: Howard Kurtz), available only on Nexis.
Here’s the full context:
Placid of demeanor but pointed in his rhetoric, Jackson struck out repeatedly today against those who suggest his race has been an asset in the campaign. President Reagan suggested Tuesday that people don’t ask Jackson tough questions because of his race. And former representative Geraldine A. Ferraro (D-N.Y.) said Wednesday that because of his “radical” views, “if Jesse Jackson were not black, he wouldn’t be in the race.”
Asked about this at a campaign stop in Buffalo, Jackson at first seemed ready to pounce fiercely on his critics. But then he stopped, took a breath, and said quietly, “Millions of Americans have a point of view different from” Ferraro’s.
Discussing the same point in Washington, Jackson said, “We campaigned across the South . . . without a single catcall or boo. It was not until we got North to New York that we began to hear this from Koch, President Reagan and then Mrs. Ferraro . . . . Some people are making hysteria while I’m making history.”

Comment: I don’t get it. Obama is the first real contender for presidency. Who is the one pulling all the tricks to stop him? I’ll give you a hint. Her name starts with “h”. A bunch of white guys and Hillary/Bill couldn’t defeat a black guy. So, they are going to bring in another white guy Al Gore. What are they going to do if they still can’t defeat Obama? Are they going to accuse Obama of reversal racism? What has the Democrat Party been doing the last 40 years? Not one white guy is coming to rescue Obama. They are all wringing their hands to watch Obama lose, grinning. They can’t stand a black man beat a white woman. The white women can’t stand a black man win an election over Hillary/Bill. This is truly a RACISM.

What are you going to do for my family? You know the voters out here. Stop talking about yourself and bringing the spot light to you. What about us peasents out here that need a job, health insurance, earn a decent wage and keep our homes. You say nothing except what I heard Senator Clinton say first back in 2007. Man, why do you have to take her stuff as your own? It is not yours and you very well know that.
I am voting for Hillary. She has the plans and ideas to help my family. Your not doing anything but blowing smoke up all these kids faces man. Get a new dog and pony show. This one has worn out its welcome.

Comment: Obama smoked crack cocaine and had gay sex in Chicago in the back of a limo with Larry Sinclair in 1999, when Obama was a state representative in the Illinois legislature. Sinclair filed suit on Obama and the Democratic National Committee to compel release of this information to the public on 2/11/08. Sinclair took a polygraph test on 2/22/08 and the results will be released to the national media early next week. (He passed with flying colors.) Check out WHITEHOUSE DOT COM for the details. Bill O”Reilly has stated that he will run with the story next week once he reviews the polygraph.

One of the writers made a statement as to where he (Obama) is going to get the resources to fulfill all the promises he???s making. I challenge the reader to heed careful attention to his speeches and his platform: http://www.barackobama.com/issues/; by them, he would have the reason to question where the resources will come from. To be precise, bulk of the resources we spent in Iraq today can and be enough to take care of all of our domestic problems we face today.

His sheer lack of serious resume will be brutally underscored by McCain. Obama isa 2-year senator, while McCain has decades of experience in politics and war. And he is a moderate Republican who can appeal to working class democrats.
The election will be won by the Republicans, if the Democrats are stupid enough tp pick Obama.
Mrs Clinton is a policy-focused, experienced person, and has good credibility on economic matters, in a bad economic year. She has a good chance against McCain when the cammpaign gets going. Obama has no chance.
If Obama wins the nomination this year, his presidential hopes will be trashed forever.
If he waits four more years and gets some experience and solid credibilty on hard policy issues, he might have a chance.

During the 2004 election, people only voted for Kerry because they despised Bush. Getting votes only because your opponent is scummy and unfit to lead isn’t something to be overly proud of. Now, with Obama, the nation has a unifying, young, new face who has no family dynasty, no ties to the Saudi Royal Family, and has a foreign policy that doesn’t involve World War 3. No offense to Hillary, but she isn’t what we need. After eight years of decline, this country needs detox, and a Clinton isn’t going to give the nation the kick in the pants it desperately needs.

Comment: NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT THIS! The Los Angeles County Registar Recorder is currently on lock-down. The California Primary results are not correct and someone needs to talk about this to put pressure on California Officials to fix what they have messed up.
There is a huge Voter Disenfranchisment Scandal in California which has drastically altered the outcome of the California Primary. Democratic Primary allowed cross-over voters, particularly decline to state and nonpartisan voters. California Voters are separated into 4 parties with color coded ballots. Democrats (Brown), Republicans (Red), Independents (Pink), and American Independents (Orange).
American Independent Voters (Orange) ballots who were voting for Democrat Candidates were not directed to an American Independent Voter booth with corresponding holes for the Democratic Candidates but a Republican Booth which meant their ballots were counted for Republicans. This was due to the lack of training of the voter station staff. Additionally, they were not instructed to Double Punch which party they were voting for by punching a certain bubble. Thus, their vote cast for a Democratic candidate was inadvertently counted as a vote for a Republican Candidate.
There are 800,000+ American Independent Ballots current uncounted and on hold by the Los Angeles County Registar Recorder for the Democratic Candidates. The Ballots are under-guard at the Los Angeles County Register Recorder by two LAPD Officers. Dean Logan is not sure if they are able to fully able to determine the intent of hunderds of thousands of voters. The majority of the holes punch on these ballots do correspond with Barack Obama’s location in the Democrat/American Independent Booth. American Independent Ballots were all cast for Democratic candidates, but in Republican Booths.
800,000+ California Voters cast a ballots that are not counted and the true results of the California Primary could be lost.
Attached us a vague Press Release from the Los Angeles County Registar Recorder.
They do broadcast live Board Meetings at:

You will be able to catch more direct information when they have their meetings.

Comment: does it mean “system” wanted all the votes to go to Obamy?
Posted By: CalexanderJ @ 02/08/2008 2:16:49 AM
Comment: I think Obama’s charisma can work against him at times. Many people think he has no substance because his most public speeches have been full of uplifting talk about hope. This is why many assumed Clinton would crush him in their one on one debate, however he more than held his own and displayed a fine grasp on policy. I think it would do Obama well to spend a little more time demonstrating this.
I support Obama been I feel he has keen judgement. I feel he can see the nuances of issues and has the capability to bring people together and broker compromises, and as an outsider with a largely publicly financed campaign he will be less influenced by special interest. I agree that he will need a strong cabinet, but unlike some others I don’t think he’ll surround himself with friends and yes men, he surround himself with the best people, regardless of party. possibly even Hillary. I think the article said it best when it compared his potential to the ocean. As someone who has been dispointed with our government for years, I’m ready to support someone who just might not give me more of the same.

Comment: If Barack Obama continues to refuse participation in televised debates on Fox and ABC as well as the offers to do local debates these stations should impose a policy of no further one-on-one interviews. In addition, print and broadcast media should inform him that their reporters will no longer cover his events.
It is apparent that Mr. Obama only wants to campaign on his terms: by means of rallies and speeches at which questions cannot be posed and through paid media over which he has total control as to content.
If, as he has claimed, he is so concerned about communicating with all voters, then he should be agreeable to as many debates as are offered. This is the only format whereby voters have a way to compare the candidates side-by-side, without campaign filters and spin, as such it???s the most fair and equitable approach.

Remember the current nightmare of an administration had “experience”. Policy and willingness to learn from mistakes are much more important. This is a great opportunity for the Democratic party to show the red states they are better off without leaders convincing them to vote against their own economic interests.

Everything will be as it is today, except a change in political party, especially since we’ve seen how Hilary will do anything it takes (i.e. lie) to get into the White House. With Obama, there’s at least a chance that something big will happen.
Suggesting a correlation between superb/inspirational public speaker and Nazi-like is absolutely ridiculous. Would you have suggested not voting JFK when he was running for President, because he could be another Hitler?

Define change - in the sense of “at least a chance that something big will happen”.
Be specific. Now see how many others on the bandwagon agree with you?

Who is going to be in and who is going to be left out.
I don’t see a lot of tolerance and inclusiveness in the comments of crowd on the bandwagon.

I’ve read a lot of replies. Hillary supporters use her record as support for their commitment. Obama supporters use emotional and judgmental jibes against Hillary as their support for him. I’m so tired of Obama and his supporters talk about change, inspiraton and hope without knowing that he has only starting his “healthcare caimpaign” in 2006. 2 years ago. I cannot believve that he tauts of being against lobbyists when he only worked on the bill last year. And Obama and his supporters label Hillary as “calculating.” Education and income means little if you support a candidate who has 2 years worth of credentials. he has no international diplomacy experience. doesn’t that scare you that people are voting for someone who the world doesn’t even know?

Now - at 50, I’m hearing of another Trojan Horse, who wants to subvert this great country who are willing to send our kids to war - and die, for a B.S. war - in the wrong country - with none of their family in harms way, and you worry about someone not saluting the flag? First, it’s patently bullshit, you look at his swearing in as a Senator, secondly if the current POTUS is the best you can do, then I’ll take the ‘terrorist” that won’t salute the flag, (did you see him hug those white ladies voting for him - the horror!). Comment: Comment: One month into the Presidential election year, leading candidates have yet to address issues of urgent importance for every day life for Americans.
Health insurance industry, agribusiness giants, corporate criminals, nuclear power, energy providers pollution controls, big oil, big banks, drug companies, union busters, war profiteers, credit card companies, corporate Democrats in Congress and Corporate Republicans in Congress.
This list of issues has been ignored by the so called leading candidates for President of the United States. The private cable networks, who now sponsor Presidential debates, have worked overtime to exclude questions on these issues, not to mention the candidates and the civic groups supporting these issues.
What issues are the leading candidates now supposed to speak on while they wait out the American electorate until the Democrat???s and Republican Party???s convention?
The message is that the natives are restless. The leading candidates do not represent whom they claim to represent, if they did, issues would be on the table for discussion during Presidential debates.

Comment: to the first three commenters: To #1: “Hitler rally” - are you serious. I think yuo need to read your history. i don’t hear any scape-goating or racism from Obama. To #2: Obama is a status quo symbol? Give me some examples. Anti-war at the start - yeah that was pretty status quo. Lobby reform - also pretty status quo. come on. if the comparison is to HC, paalease. To #3: Obama is elitist? What do you think Obama’s net worth is versus Hillary’s? Bill and Hill are estimated at around $35-50 M. Obama was a community activist and state senator for most of the past decade. Not exactly high paying jobs. Give me a break. Hillary is by far more of an elitist - she’s got a huge political machine, is super wealthy, several shady financial deals - see most recent one in last week’s NYT. She’s not normal people - give us a break. She’s somehow duped the least educated and much of the working class into thinking she cares and will bring change. I’m an independent, leaning to Obama. i refuse to buy her spin machine.

Hillary has been a civil servant since she graduated from college. BTW, he’s only worked on the lobbyist reform bill last year. Bill and Hillary have been working and investing and are now using their own money for her campaign. No shady financial deals with Obama. Check out his “present” vote and partnership with Planned parenthood. Please check out your stats before you start criticizing.

Comment: Hindsight always makes us smart. I’m not suggesting Obama is Nazi like, but I’m drawing attention something else. Historian Richard Evans, author of the Coming of the Third Reich, notes that the Nazi Party established itself with startling suddeness. It achieved this with powerful, simple slogans (Yes we can!!!) and images, rallies, demonstations etc. There were more than a party, they were a “movement”, sweeping up the German people and carrying them unstoppably to a better future. What the Nazis did not offer, however, were concrete solutions to Germany’s problems, least of all where they were most needed, in economy and society.
My point is that hopping on an emotional bandwagon may feel good and make your heart proud to be an American. But conduct a simple thought experiment. Assume Obama is nominated and elected President and the time is February 2009. President Obama is now in power. What will different in Washington. What will his cabinet look like. How will he work with Congress. For fun, assume the economy is in the worst depression since the 1930s. If you want to complicate the problem, assume a terrorist attack on American soil taking place within weeks of the inauguration that leads to greater loss of life and destruction than 9/11. It has the makings of a great novel.

Comment: Obama will call on Oprah to help him with international affairs and let the Kennedys do the work. Check out his first staff. He had the biggest staff out of any politician, and he’s only a junior senator. Doesn’t that sound like “you write the stuff and I’ll read it to the people cus I’m inspirational.” If Obama is in the white house, he will withdraw the troops immediately without a careful plan. American volunteers, ambassadors and humanitarians will have no protection. The Iraqi’s that support us today, do you think that the merciless insurgents will forgive them for supporting us? Let Hillary plan our withdrawal with other politicians here and abroad and use her many years of diplomacy to implement this change. Please be careful what you wish for.

Comment: I happen to be a democrat, a realist and an Obama supporter- in that order. Clearly the Clintonistas are looking for a simplistic reason to dismiss the Obama surge so here is a simple comparison of their policy stands:
Clinton Healthcare: $100 billion + more $$ to enforce her “mandate” when millions of Americans still can’t afford to wait for a tax credit to buy an overpriced plan.
Obama Healthcare: $65 billion for a plan that will actually achieve it’s goal of coverage for all Americans because it will be affordable NOW - not only after tax credits are given.
Clinton Education: Throw out the baby, the bath and the bathwater and start over– and even then she only wants to help the lowest performing schools in the poorest neighborhoods-necessary but NOT ENOUGH.
Obama Education: Keep what was working and fix what isn’t- plus support the three pillars of good education: the schools(by fully funding) , the family(child care/early childhood programs) and the community (programs and resources)
Clinton Economy: She wants to give trickle-down assistance - give money to the states, they’ll give it to the citiies, then the individual will get some help( if there’s anything left)
Obama Economy: Give help to the people who need it NOW through direct spending– not after all his friends are paid off like Clinton.

Listen, Hillary is removing the tax breaks from oil firms so that money can be allocated to promoting universal healthcare and education. she started healthcare 16 years ago and everyone laughed at her. She implemented the most successful insurance plan for childresn, heard of CHIP? Obama signed his healthcare bill 2 years ago and you truly believe his is qualified to implement a healthcare and education plan that won’t cost the taxpayers an arm, and maybe both our legs? He thinks that by lowering healthcare, a poor family will buy it? Are you kidding? He’s never been poor so how would he know what this group of constituents will do? If I were poor and healthcare only cost $200 for my family, I’d go get food first. Be realistic, stopping hoping for something impractical

Obama was status quo when in Illinois, he was backing the Daley machine (and ‘dynasty’). People point to Hillary as being dishonest, but Obama is just as dishonest - he’s new but also very status quo and misrepresents himself all over the place. Comment: I am a moderate Democrat but I am enthusiastically supporting Barack Obama because I believe he will bring about the changes our nation so badly needs by reaching across the aisle and working with members of both parties. The bitter partisanship in Congress is making it impossible to get reforms in healthcare, the environment, immigration and our foreign policy. Hillary Clinton has ran a nasty, mean-spirted campaign against Obama, full of mud-slingling, character assassination and the politics of personal destruction. As President she and her husband will make the presidencies of Richard Nixon and George W. Bush pale in comparison when it comes their vindictiveness, secretiveness and wanting to get back at their enemies.
America has too many problems that need to be resolved and they never will be resolved if we demonize those who disagree with us. Obama has proven he can work with those whose views don’t always equal his in a way to find common ground and get meaningful legislation passed that will benefit all Americans. He will hold true to his beliefs but will still be able to get majorities to pass legislation because of the type of leader he is.
We don’t need more partisanship in Congress, we need less. We don’t need more lies, more mud slinging, and more dirty campaigning. Nixon is long gone, and Bush will soon be gone. If revenge and getting back at the Republicans is your motive, then vote for Hillary Clinton. If progress and change and laws protecting our environment, extending healthcare to more of our citizens, a fair and decent immigration policy, and a foreign policy that will restore American values without making us a pariah in the world is what you want, then you have one clear choice: Barack Obama.

Hill is so tied to the industry lobby by forcing everyone to enroll and get premium payments/profits for no service to the young ! When she tries to disparage Barack’s plan of affordable voluntary coverage as leaving out uninsured, she is trying to fatten insurance industry ! That is why she is so obsessed with the words “Universal Health Insurance”.

Comment: Hill’s managerial experience is surfacing that exposed her lies as the best to manage the country’s economic policy. If she can’t even managed her campaign finances and need to loan her campaign with her own money to remain competitive, why should the voters believe every lies she peddled ? Loaning her campaign $5 million when Barack was able to raise more than that since Super Tuesday must have been shocking to the Clintons as Bill is supposed to be the champion fund raiser. I guess they need to rent out Lincoln bedroom to do that, and unfortunately, W won’t let them borrow it for a few nights ! Hill must have anticipated an extended primary battle and she is running out of ammo. Then uses the excuse of fundraising in Florida to raise her profile there before the primary with no delegate awarded so that she can win and will later ask the party to give her the delegates when her rivals never went to Florida on any pretense as previously agreed. If she can’t honor her own commitment, why should the voters trust her promises now and all the lies that the Clintons are so famous for ?
Super Tuesday’s result tells me to be superstitious when Hill’s tear is involved. So far, that seems to be working for her on two occasions on primary eve ! Maybe Barack should send someone to dog Hill’s activity on the eve of a primary and make sure she will not have the chance to let her tear get involved and make her cackle with joy !

Comment: I know what you say. It is much better and convenient to “steal” the money from others’ naive people pocket, just selling the illusions and empty fantasy for nothing. All Obama’s phraseology is no substance, repeated over and over again like a parrot .I am sure, even his wife doesn’t believe what he sais. But the struggle is only for his “stomach” and personal ego. His main goal is to build a Trojan Horse of the Middle Est into the heart of American people. GTX

Comment: People! Do your homework! This is shaping up to be the most important election of our time, and you are spouting ridiculous rumors and baseless accusations as fact. I’ve been a long-time Clinton supporter, of Bill and then Hillary. I knew she was going to run for president, and I was confident in my decision to vote for her. Then out of nowhere comes a skinny black guy with a funny name. What the… Ok, let’s check him out. I have an open mind, and the main thing is that we get the best person for the job in the WH. What if it’s this guy? So I check him out. It’s a struggle to stay objective, being a staunch Clinton supporter.
The first time I heard him speak was his concession speech in New Hampshire. I was floored. I admit it.
There was no way this guy was for real. I dismissed it as poetry designed to confuse me, to blind me from the real issues. But it was too late… something changed. I took that newly discovered passion for my country and poured it into Hillary. And she promptly doused it.
I should be offended at the implication that Obama supporters have nothing to say except that he is “inspirational.” But I’m not, because what else should I expect from the blatant ignorance that such, and other similar, statements stem from? He didn’t win us all off the bat with his rhetoric; believe me, there was plenty of skepticism to go around the whole country. But the facts, the FACTS, remain. Among several other things I could mention but for lack of space, he has a well-established track record of bringing Reps and Dems together to get results. He has chided his staff for attacking the Clinton campaign with dirty tactics, regardless of the slander they were combatting from hers. Obama has said he will not play that game, and has proven it. He has consistently spoken against the war and special interests that have a piece of every decision that comes out of the WH. He has vowed to not accept one dime from them, and he hasn’t. He’ll go into the WH with debt to only one party, and that is the people of this country. I believe he will, because there are millions out there just like me who see that this “movement” is more than spin and more than blind faith. He is the real deal. He is our chance to make our government about the people again, not money or influence. I believe that Hillary would make some needed changes in the WH, absolutely, because people might just revolt otherwise. But what good are all the best ideas and plans and policies and experience… if no one cares?

Comment: I respect your opinions. However, I cannot understand how you turned from a long-term Clinton supporter to an Obama follower. It makes me think you were not truely a Clinton supporter or you have been brainwashed by the Obama speeches. You said it best when you mentioned that you dismissed his speech as “poetry designed to confuse” or “blind from the real issues”. I am curious how Hillary “doused” your passion? She has done nothing but inspire me to get very involved in this process!! Again, I do respect your opinions/choices, but am amazed you could flip. Just realize he could have you snowed.

Comment: THE ONLY WAY OBAMA CAN COUNTER UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE IS BY bringing up the WAR.
RUN A COMMERICIAL SHOWING OBAMA REUNINTING A LATINO SOLDIER WITH HIS FAMILY. THE WAR IS THE ONLY ISSUE OBAMA CAN USE TO COUNTER UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE. OBAMA CAN CLAIM HE WILL START ENDING THE WAR FROM DAY ONE. HE CAN THEN CLAIM HE WILL HAVE MORE MONEY THAN HILLARY TO CARRY OUT HIS AGENDA FROM DAY ONE
> WE HAVE TO GET OUR TROOps OUT FROM DAY ONE>
THE OTHER STRATEGY HE CAN IMplement is EMphasize on VETERANS COMpensation packages for those who come home. A COMMERICIAL ON THIS TOpic will be popular among LATINO’s and independents.
THE THIRD Strategy he needs to implement is the WAR ON TERROR. OBAMA THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN GET OSAMA. HE HAS TO DO A COMMERCIAL ON THIS> BIN LADEN IS TRAINING HIS SON TO BE HIS AIR. WE MUST CRUSH AL QUEDA ONCE AND FOR ALL. THE YOUNGER TERRORISTS HAVE NO ISSUES WITH DETONATING A NUCLEAR DEVICE ON AMERICAN SOIL> IT IS THEIR GOAL. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN COMpletely ignored. IF AMERICANS FEEL THAT OBAMA IS STRONGER ON TERROR HE COULD GAIN SOME GROUND.
THESE THREE STRATEGIES LOOK GOOD ON paper. WHETHER THEY WILL COUNTER UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE I DO NOT KNOW.

Comment: Calm down people, that’s what’s wrong with this country now, people like you with all this rage. Hillary doesn’t have any experience to run a country either, and neither did Bush or Bill Clinton. Nobody has experience until you become President. Everyone knows who will run this country if Hillary wins, her husband. She has no clue on what to say, that’s why she’s always reading what someone else wrote and Obama talks straight from his head. Maybe she should just cry again. That’s the only way she’ll get her way. Stop talking all this Black this and Black that. People could say the same things about a Woman on why people are voting for her. If you look at Hillary’s record, it’s not impressive at all. This country is done with the Clinton’s and Bush’s, BEEN THERE, DONE THAT!!!!. McCain, WOW, he’s a character. He is such a hot head. He reminds me of a little kid. His temper is scary. His temper will show soon enough, then you’ll be wishing you never voted for him.

Comment: bro., I’ve gotta tell ya, I like the competition just for it’s sake, and before I even attempted to do this blog thing, because as a free-willed person - I don’t need to consult someone else in my choices for POTUS, so I wasn’t interested in the commentary, but curiosity got the better of me after the NH primaries - and a lot of bad memories welled up….so let me calm-up, as you say:), but I’d like to mention one thing, and that’s we’re in the Middle East, up to our necks on a two front war(one legit/one absolutely not), around a region that doesn’t regard their women like we do (just look at some of the old Margaret Thatcher pictures, on one of her Middle East visits, posing with dignitaries), and tell me Hillary can present a worldview that is acceptable to them? as an aside, you got a fool on this train of thought that keeps on saying trojan horse - do people seriously think this man wasn’t vetted before they posted him on some of these commitees he’s on - as a junior senator?

Comment: Biased… of course all opinions are biased. Your opinion is biased and mine opinion is biased. He may or may not work. Think of the Super Bowl.. you don’t know who is gonna win until the time comes. He could be one of the greatest Presidents ever… or one of the worst. We need to know before we elect him. He has great intentions, I’m not argueing that, but so did Bush.
Think about what would have happend if we did fine one trace amount of WMD in Iraq. Then Bush could have been labeled as a hero that saved America. I’m not defending Bush. I don’t agree with most of his policies. No matter who runs.. someone is going to find fault.
But yes I’m biased. If you think I’m crazy because I’m willing to Vote for Big Hill or McCain possibly then fine.. your opinion. Just think if Big Hll gets elected and does a great job and get reelected… then.. you will have egg on your face.

Comment: Thank you so much for saying what a non’black person cannot say in fear that she will be called a “racist” is she spoke out against Obama. Everyone around me tells me that Obama will represent change, change from what? I love my country and don’t want to change it a bit. I want my president to go out there and get things done, and know that he/she can. If Hillary loses to Barack, I will vote for McCain because I want to vote for someone I trust to do the job right and has a track record to prove it. If you ask any Hillary supporter, they can tell you how she’s going to “change” our country from one that is suffering from an economic misery to one where citizens can afford health insurance at congressional rates and everyone here, including those that risked their lives to get here, to have a good paying job and help American’s payrate stay competitive. Gees, can any Obama supporter say anything different than “he is inspirational?” Give me a reason to join the Obama campaign besides “he will change the country.” Into what? Comment: I agree 100% with you. I’m sick of the media bias towards Obama. Most Hillary haters either say they don’t want Bill to be the defacto Pres but didn’t most of these people vote him back in office in 96? And aren’t these the same that are blasting Hillary for not getting her initial Health Care Reform.. well hell at least she has done something on the National level and big peice of legislation yeah it didn’t pass… but thats given her a huge amount experience…can Obama say that? Oh yeah Harvard Law Review… hmm has any other politician tried to tout that? Who wouldn’t scoff at that?
McCain… may be a hot head but can anyone doubt his Military service and experience? If Obama wins.. what is he going to counter that with.. “Hey I’m a fresh face and I’m inspirational and I HOPE I can do better than that guy that spent years in Hanoi Hilton. I have just as must experience playing Command and Conquer! The fact that Rush and the evangelical right don’t like McCain is a big plus for him.

Comment: Vote for Substance…
Your comments don’t make any sense. You want Big Hill to win but if she doesn’t then your going to vote for McCain? Their policies couldn’t be more different! I like how everyone believes that Hillary has so much Washington experience. She has only been a senator for a few more years than Barack. Since when does being the first lady translate into having experience running a country? All three candidates are lacking executive experience, they are all senators. None of them have been governors either. The president does not rule alone (take a look at Bush who couldn’t tie his shoes without Condy or Cheney).
I will vote for the Democratic nominee but God help us all if it’s Hillary. We are all standing at the edge of something really special. For the first time in my life I feel like I could be proud to be an American. Barack inspires that feeling. I’m not very proud of the way that Hillary has run her campaign and it makes me very sad that there seems to be so much animosity between Democrats. I have had civil conversations with McCain and Romney supporters and heated debates with Clinton supporters. I hope that she stops tearing this party apart.

Comment: Hillary started the universal healthcare as a first lady, a role that is “not” suppose to have any responsibilities other than ambassadorship. People laughed at her, the government shun her and she still managed to implement the Children Health Insurance Program. Ever heard of that? It’s called helping the less fortunate because you were given the opportunity. Obama voted for Healthcare 2 years ago. Don’t discuss experience, Barack doesn’t want to. Same here, I’ve not had one single rational or factual discussion with an Obama supporter. I’ve hugged many Hillary supporters and McCain supporters. I’m an Independent. I’m one of those folks who vote based on a person’s record, not his impassioned speech about change. I love America and the democratic process. I don’t want that to change. If you really want to change something, ask Obama to allow Florida delegates to be counted. That’s fair. But when has the Obama campaign been fair?

Comment: I completely agree with the staments made by Nikkip here. Those are reasonable comments. But I wonder who is realy this man: Obama. I think we will learn more about him only if the people were not afraid to question Obama. I beleive that because he is a black candidate people (politicains are) afraid to be call racist noneone will dare to say negative statements about Obama because of his race. But we have to look behond all that and ask ourselves: where did he got the money for his expensive education; how is that he can raise 32m in one month? Where is that money from? What about his family? Why is he not intoducing them to the country? I have been thinking that if Obama wants to make a real diference, wants change and wants to make a mark in this country’s poor lives…he should use his God giving ability to raise so much money in a month, and dedicate his efforts to help the real needy poeple in this country. I’m afraid that he is just a talker, an oportunist, a poppet of the Kennedys and who knows who else….He is runing as a democrat but I am not sure he is a DEMOCRAT. We need to find out much more about Obama because we really don’t know who he is. What has this young man done for anyone? Nothing. But he has done a lot for himself. I don’t trust him completely. I want to know WHO is really behind him. Could he be another Dick Chinney?

Comment: It is mostly young people and others who got inspired by his own deeds and work accomplishments that raised money on internet with contributions of less than $200 and they number more than half a million contributors. He work w/ Sen. Lugar to safeguard loose nuke materials and also ethics reform to ban lobbyist from buying sit down dinner that lessen their influence with elected officials.

Comment: Yeah and look at Jimmy Swaggart saying that god told him to raise x million dollars ( I don’t remember the amount ) for Jimmy will die.. and he got it.. that money didn’t come from big contributors but the poor and middle class that were blinded by Swaggart’s rhetoric.
Just because he is getting a lot of money from small and younger contributors doesn’t mean its honest money… and about nuke reform.. the bill never passed even after it was watered down by Obama himself after meeting with the head of the Nuke power company … who’s president is a major Obama contributor…. seems funny that you tout him as being immune to lobbyists and that bill had Nuke Lobby written all over it.

Choose to work as community organizer instead as Supreme Court clerk to help poor.

Comment: Obama is a good speaker and that is where his appeal ends. Obama is not JFK or MLK. Both of them have better credentials. It is really insulting to compare him to them. He hasn’t done anything but talk. Hope is an important thing but it is incompetent to place all your hope in a man that has not delivered any concrete results. He talks and he talks but what has he done. People are really hard pressed to come up with accomplishmetns because there aren’t many. People are just voting for him because the press dared white people to vote for a black man. The media said Obama was the best candidate and white people wouldn’t vote for him because he’s black. The media basically were like if Obama doesn’t win it is because this country is filled with racists. So all the white people out there in Iowa and Ohio and even Utah were like, “no we are not racists, we like this black guy.” Crazy white people out there, I believe you. You aren’t racist. you can stop voting for Obama now. He is not doing us (black people) any good. If he didn’t do anything in the senate what makes you think he will as president?! Think for a minute.
And fellow black people, Obama is not MLK, he is not our savior, if he becomes president he will screw up b/c he has zero experience and it will make us worse off than before. More importantly, Hillary and McCain are the only two candidates that can fiz this mess the country is in. And another thing… if there are any black people out there who want to say since I’m against Obama I am against my race. No I am proud to be a black woman. I want what is best for this country and the black community. I would LOVE a black president! Unfortunately this black candidate is not it. I was really excited before I checked Obama’s records and policies. It would be so exciting to have a black president. But it also feels really nice that so many white people didn’t just vote for a black person, they voted for a black person that has no business being president. That is probably the ONLY plus to Obama running. I give credit to you, white Obama supporters! Stupid YES, racist NO! And I truely appreciate that. Maybe next time you can vote for the right black person.
